What you can expect to be doing:
A Manager will take on a high level of project responsibility and lead day-to-day client and stakeholder engagements within our Philippines portfolio. Providing a rewarding opportunity to work in the dynamic space between Asia’s governments, businesses, and civil society organizations. This role also involves mentoring and managing junior team members, as well as contributing to client development efforts.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in policy and stakeholder engagement in the Philippines, along with established connections to relevant government agencies. Experience in project and team management, as well as communicating effectively with senior business executives, is essential.
Candidates must possess excellent research skills and demonstrate fluency in written English, particularly in policy, political, and issue analysis. Prior experience in government relations, corporate affairs, or strategic communications is highly desirable. A master’s degree in business, economics, international relations, communications, law, or a related field is preferred.
What you will bring:
Leading project work, including workstream structuring, research, presentation to clients and ensuring all deliverables are up to the highest quality
Structuring and proposing solutions and strategies to client challenges and issues and successfully implementing these strategies in pursuit of our clients’ interests
Building, maintaining, and managing client relationships as a trusted advisor to provide strategic advice and ensure client satisfaction
Overseeing the preparation, drafting and finalization of analytical reports
Building strong networks and relationships with bureaucrats and public officials, the business community, civil society organizations, government institutions and other relevant stakeholders
Supporting business development efforts, including the drafting of proposals and participation in pitches
Mentoring and developing junior consultants
Working on special projects as needed and assigned
Desired Skills & Experience
Seven or more years of progressive experience in government relations, corporate affairs and/or government in Philippines, either in-house or in a consulting capacity
Deep networks with government and business stakeholders, coupled with a high-level
understanding of the investment and policy climate in Philippines
Strong interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, including experience in cross cultural environments and international settings
Written fluency in policy, political economic and issue analysis in Philippines for a business audience
Fluent in English and Filipino, both written and oral
Demonstrated experience in managing client teams and mentoring junior consultants
Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing priorities; capable of managing and making informed decisions in often ambiguous circumstances
A dynamic, self-starter personality capable of operating both independently and in a team setting
