The FTI develops and provides substantive research that considers the myriad ways where technology, business, government, and good governance intersect. Our vision is to provide strong thought leadership, new ideas, and well-considered approaches to digital opportunities and challenges which our world faces today.
We work with various stakeholders from the public sector, private sector, regional institutions and multilateral non-governmental organisations, academic and educational institutions, and non-profit, providing a thought leadership platform to discuss these topics and themes, ensuring that our research outcomes derive from strong inter-sectoral dialogue and engagement.
What you can expect to be doing:
- Act as one of our Subject Matter Experts related to public policy, regulatory issues, and stakeholder concerns.work within the region
- Project leader on multiple Digital Economy, E-payments, Open Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Connectivity projects commissioned by multinational clients, and intergovernmental organisations
- Be one of the go-to people within the team to advise on policy trends, supporting your Practice Lead and working closely with internal stakeholders to coordinate efforts and provide updates on regional developments.
- Manage one-to-one relations with clients and undertake project management of major accounts, including leading the management and growth of our practice across Asia
- Play a key role in sales origination and business development by proactively bringing ideas for new lines of work and prospective clients
- Develop incisive policy communications and messaging across multiple platforms through the region
- Lead, manage, and develop your team
- Collaborate with other teams, in Asia and across the company, to contribute on special projects and ad-hoc requests.
- Support the management of interactions between external stakeholders, particularly policy makers, regulators, and key industry stakeholders across the region
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in related area (Public Policy, Political Science or similar).
- 8+ years of experience.
- Graduate degree preferred.
- Prior consulting experience specifically, government advisory work relating to areas of digital trade/economy and market trends.
- Ability to network actively and successfully across policy practitioners, trade associations, digital natives and the startup world
- Demonstrable influencing and negotiating skills
- A natural talent and experience in nurturing client relationships
- Excellent leadership and inter-personal skills
- Policy communications and/or public affairs experience
- Willingness to be a team player
- Ability to formulate and present complex information in a clear and concise manner and provide recommendations to clients of the most effective way forward
- Fluency in one or more Asian languages to liaise with clients in the ASEAN region.
