The Role
We are seeking a full-time Analyst to be based in our Malaysia office. We are seeking an Malay and English-speaking candidate with a strong understanding of Malaysia's business, politics, and economics. Candidates experienced in government relations, corporate affairs and/or strategic communications consulting will be prioritized.
You will have strong research and writing skills, and be able to produce concise briefings on economic, political, and legal developments. The ideal candidate would possess a graduate degree in public policy, international relations, economics, or business, and have knowledge of key policies related to topics such as trade, energy transition, food & beverage, tech, or health, among others.
What you'll do:
- Drafting memos, briefings, presentations, and reports for clients.
- Developing policy and regulatory updates produced for internal use and distribution to selected clients
- Conducting media monitoring and analysis.
- Conducting research on specific regulations, legislation, and policies.
- Attending meetings and preparing meeting notes for internal and external distribution.
- Working on special projects as needed and as assigned.
- Assisting in website and social media content management.
- Carrying out English language desk research on a variety of economic and politic issues.
- Supporting additional operational and administrative activities as required.
What you will bring:
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Highly articulate English and Malay language skills, both written and oral.
- Engaging interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, including experience in cross-cultural environments and international settings.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- The ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines.
- Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing priorities.
- A bachelors/ master degrees in public policy, international relations, economics, journalism, political science, or strategic communications
