The Operations practice is integral to ensuring the seamless functioning of our practices across over 200 markets globally. By implementing strategies that drive business success, the Operations team plays a pivotal role in supporting consultant teams throughout the project lifecycle. Their responsibilities include the effective management of pricing, resourcing, and delivery of complex consultancy projects. This ensures that projects are executed efficiently and effectively, aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Role summary
The PMO Senior Manager is an experienced leader within the PMO, who plays a crucial role in driving the efficiency and success of the company’s operations. You will also support your own practice area, ensuring effective resource management and project delivery. Additionally, you will oversee members of the PMO team, supervise key processes and activities, and drive continuous improvement, contributing to the overall strategic goals and growth of the wider practices and organisation.
Role and Responsibilities
- · Contribute to the development and implementation of PMO processes, providing leadership within the PMO on sharing best practices.
- · Act as a business partner to a practice area working with the leadership and project managers to optimise utilisation and effective rate of consulting teams
- · Ensure every project and proposal is resourced effectively.
- · Ensure that all required purchase orders and other documentation are completed to support project activities
- · Provide guidance and support to the practice on internal processes, ensuring they are applied consistently and effectively.
- · Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure effective project management.
- · Collaborate with practice teams to forecast resource needs, update and provide analysis on resource dashboard to ensure accuracy of resource lookahead data.
- · Lead the practice backlog process, ensuring accurate revenue phasing.
- · Ensure contracts are administered effectively alongside project managers
- · Review and verify pricing for proposals to drive opportunity conversion and increase effective rate.
- · Circulate resource forecast and pipeline reports within practice area.
- · Provide insights and updates on project status and issues and present reports /data for senior management.
Required Education and Experience
- · 6-8 years' experience in project management or PMO roles within professional services, consulting, or technology.
- · Proven leadership in managing large-scale, complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- · Experience working on change, transformation and other complex programs of work.
- · Advanced understanding and mitigation of project and commercial risks.
- · Excellent organisational, detail-oriented, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- · Exceptional communication skills and experience with senior stakeholders and management presentations.
